The ever so talented http://www.livingwithlindsay.com/ is having her 2nd annual $5 challenge.
The rules are pretty simple: Create a new Spring decor item for your home using only $5 worth of items purchased at a dollar store – i.e. Dollar Tree, Dollar Store, Everything’s $1.00, etc. The $5 does not include sales tax.
- You may use the following supplies *if* you already have them on-hand – paint, glue, paper, fabric, tools.

I was at the Dollar Tree a couple of weeks ago and I saw just the thing to use for my entry. Decorating with orbs (balls) is all the rage now on the decorating blogs. I bought these for 5/$1.00.
A wiffle ball! I covered some with twine, but I used 3 of them for this home decor item. I spray painted them with my favorite colors by Rustoleum: Nutmeg, Oregano & Expresso. The jar was a Christmas gift several years ago and I put a layer of epsom salt in the bottom to make it even. I layered the painted wiffle balls, now called decorative orbs in the jar and there you go! It looks lovely in my master bathroom. Total cost .60 cents.

I was looking at those balls at the 99 Cents Only store and wondering what could be made of these?? Glad you found the answer. Those decor ball things are so fun, but hard to justify the cost.
Very resourceful!
Visiting from Lindsay's linky party!
